Job description

He (she) will be in charge of following the preparation tests on ground with the Flight Model and process the data in spring 2019. During the experiments in orbit, starting in July 2019, he (she) will follow the experimental sequence for several months and process the downloaded data. He (she) will develop in parallel theoretical models. He (she) will be contact with researchers of several foreign Universities (TU Darmstadt, University of Pisa, University Aix-Marseille, ENEA Roma, Université Libre de Bruxelles, ...).

The post-doctoral fellow will work in the Interfaces Group of the Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse. The work is part of the research programme on Boiling in Microgravity supported by the European and French space agencies (ESA and CNES). An Experimental set-up RUBI (Reference mUltiscale Boiling Investigation), has been designed for more than a decade by several European teams involved in the ESA Project BOILING. In this experiment, IMFT is responsible for the study of vapour bubble growth and detachment in a shear flow.

The work will be performed at the Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse, 2 avenue Camille Soula, Toulouse, in the Interfaces group, a research team of 30 peoples including 9 researchers/Professors, other post-doctoral fellows, PhD and Master students. The expertise of the team is based on experiments, theoretical modeling and direct numerical simulations. The post-doctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Catherine Colin, Professor at Toulouse INP and researcher in the Interfaces Group.
