Job Details
Project goals
The objective of the postdoctoral researcher will be to study the effect of treatments (mechanical, chemical, laser, etc.) on the surface structuring / functionalization / biological response of zirconia-based biomedical ceramics using on-site experiments. in collaboration (France / Europe).
Duties
Depending on his/her experience and background, the recruited person will develop his/her research activity in one or more of the following projects:
The postdoctoral researcher will study the effect of different treatments (mechanical, chemical, laser, etc.) on the surface structuring / functionalization / biological response of zirconia-based biomedical ceramics using on-site experiments and in the framework of collaborations (France/Europe).
The recruited person will be located in the MATEIS laboratory belonging to Insa-Lyon in France. He/she will also be able to do some experiments at ANTHOGYR in Sallanches, France (industrial partner of the project).
Requirements

Duties
Depending on his/her experience and background, the recruited person will develop his/her research activity in one or more of the following projects:
- Elaboration of zirconia-based ceramic materials for dental implants (shaping, sintering, machining of ceramic specimens and implants) by conventional methods and additive manufacturing
- Physico-chemical characterization of sintered nanopowders and ceramics (DRX, dilatometry, density measurements, BET, Porosimetry Hg, Raman, XPS ...)
- Microstructural characterization of powders / ceramics (Optics, SEM, TEM, ceramic polishing, cutting and machining)
- Mechanical characterization of ceramics (hardness, biaxial bending, 3 and 4 point bending, toughness on notched specimens...)
- Development of surface treatment protocols (chemical, mechanical, laser ...) and realization of collaborative experiments (industrial and academic partners)
- Developments of characterization tools for modified surfaces at different scales
- Design and implementation of biological tests in collaboration with the group I2B MATEIS laboratory.
- Additive manufacturing of zirconia-based "dense" ceramic materials (for surface modification / functionalization): CAD file creation, STL file preparation, stereo lithography printing, parameter analysis, debinding, sintering and characterization
