Job Purpose
The Department of History is looking to appoint a Teaching Fellow (1.0) in Modern European History, to teach, advise and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students within own subject area and within an established teaching programme.
The position is a fixed-term appointment for one year from 1 September 2019.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have a PhD in history, or be near completion of a PhD, and have demonstrated ability to: teach on a range of modules including Nationalism in Modern Europe, 1815-1914 and Visions of Utopia: Socialism around the World, 1800-1980; contribute to the team-taught module Europe in the Age of Total War; contribute to teaching and administration; contribute toundergraduate and Masters-level modules introducing historical theory and methods; contribute experience of teaching in a university department or equivalent; fluent written and spoken English.
