  • Fixed term position for 12 months
  • The Associate Lecturer will facilitate student learning in both the University setting and whilst on clinical placement in a range of health care settings.


An understanding of contemporary issues in nursing and healthcare and a sound knowledge of education and adult learning principles is required. Effective skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation are a large aspect of this position. Aspects of teaching able to be undertaken within this role include teaching in the skills laboratory, small group facilitation and presentation of lecture material.

This clinical position as an Associate Lecturer is integral to the development of the nursing workforce.

The Associate Lecturers work as a team to foster and develop student nurses both on placement and in the academic arena with the aim to ensure students are job ready. An important aspect of the role is the enhancement of both current and new relationships between industry and the University to enable supported learning opportunities for the student. There is opportunity for involvement in research and/or career progression academically.

This role will require frequent travel to other campuses and health departments.

To be successful you will need:
  • To hold an unrestricted practicing certificate with AHPRA to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • A Bachelor of Nursing and post graduate qualifications in nursing and/or education
  • Demonstration of commitment to student centred learning
  • Experience in managing small and large group teaching
  • A proven record of effective team work and communication across diverse health care settings
