Student Counselling and Development
Admin Assistant: (25 hours per week) (post level 13) (3 year contract appointment)

Duties and responsibilities:
- Handle general office administration including but not limited to typing, filing, attending to telephones calls and appointments, attending to enquiries and sending of emails.
- Receive clients at reception.
- Schedule appointments and notify psychologists of client arrivals.
- Plan diary for psychologists, intern psychologists and counsellors.
- Capture client information on electronic system.
- Perform duties related to meeting administration.
- Ensure quality control at reception.
- Report faults and general maintenance issues.
Inherent requirements:
- Grade 12.
- Two years' experience in reception and general administration.
Required competencies:
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Internet usage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to function with ease in the university' richly diverse working environment.
- Work successfully within a professional team.
- Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
- Must be able to work accurately and effectively, with excellent planning skills.
Recommendations:
- Knowledge of UFS administrative systems.
- Proficiency in Sesotho and/or IsiZulu.
