The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational units: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health, and Non-communicable diseases & mental health.

The Project to understand and research preterm pregnancy outcome & stillbirth: South Asia (PURPOSe) is a prospective, observational study aimed to better understand causes of stillbirths and neonatal deaths among preterm live births in Pakistan & India. This is a study of pregnant women to evaluate the causes of stillbirth and neonatal death (
This is a grant funded, short-term contractual position.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• monitoring day to day activities of the project at JPMC field site
• maintaining regular communication with the project teams to ensure timely reporting
• ensuring that the study is being conducted and the data is being collected according to the protocol & standard operation procedures
• assisting the implementation of research procedures in the project
• assisting in planning and organizing study trainings, workshops, refreshers, and seminars, etc.
• assisting the Principal Investigator or anyone designated by him/her in negotiating sub-contracting/outsourcing for project related activities.

Requirements

You should have:

• a Master's degree
• at least two to three years' of research related experience and understanding of medical terminologies
• good written and verbal communication skills
• ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality
• proficiency in use of computer software.
