Senior Civil Engineering Technician

We have a great opportunity for an ambitious senior engineering technician to join an exciting team in Manchester which values personal professional development. They are currently about to undertake several complex development sites in the north west of England and beyond so are looking for someone to help with the delivery of these strategies and manage the projects from start to finish; allowing for the opportunity to gain a large variety of new exciting skills. This role will require you to work within their existing civil engineering department to support the design and delivery of technical information relating to site drainage, earthworks and highway design.

Some of the key role responsibilities will include working collaboratively with engineers and other technicians to deliver S38/S104/S278 type infrastructure scheme designs; developing and implementing design technologies and standards to deliver BIM (Building Information Modelling) solutions to designs; and the development of cut / fill bulk earthwork packages utilising specialist ground modelling software (e.g. PDS) as well as the production of technical drawing information including site road / drainage layout plans, earthworks drawings and other related information.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum qualification of an HND or HNC in Engineering or similar;
be a proficient user of AutoCAD; the ability to prepare CAD drawings to a standard suitable for construction and technical approvals; experience of infrastructure design software such as Autodesk, Causeway PDS and Micro Drainage (desirable); experience in infrastructure scheme designs; good IT skills, including MS Office.
They will also have excellent communication skills, to liaise with colleagues and clients; the ability to work within a team and also able work under own initiative; and Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise workload.
