The role

The core project involves analyses of cis- and trans- regulatory variation using F1 hybrid RNA-Seq data from multiple resequenced lines of Drosophila serrata sourced from both nature and also a mutation accumulation experiment. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute substantially to the project through data analysis and writing papers. There are also opportunities within the position for the successful candidate to develop their own independent research projects.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD qualification in evolutionary biology, quantitative genetics, population genetics, or genomics. Applicants will be required to have a strong background in the bioinformatic analysis of genomic datasets, excellent communication and analytic skills, and strong interpersonal skills. They should demonstrate strong organisational skills and an ability to work independently to meet collaborative project goals.
