The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work established in 2015, is a leader in the study of nursing, midwifery, and social work, demonstrating excellence through innovative, creative, and dynamic teaching and research, in a vibrant, interdisciplinary, and engaging environment. The School is committed to conducting academic, research and community partnership programs that are recognised for their excellence in contributing to health and well-being in the community.
The role
An opportunity exists for an outstanding individual to assume the role of Professor and Head of School. The primary role of the Head is provide academic leadership of the School, leading both the teaching and research activities as well as the School's engagement with its alumni, government and industry partners, and relevant professional bodies.
The person
The role calls for an exceptional academic scholar leader in the field of nursing, midwifery, social work or counselling to lead the School through the next phase of its development. The School is comprehensive and world-class and its various teaching and research programs and staff share a unifying interest in the understanding, support and promotion of human health and well-being across the life course.
Remuneration
A full-time continuing appointment as Professor (Academic Level E) will be offered to the successful applicant along with a five-year fixed term appointment as Head of School, with a possible continuation by mutual agreement of the headship appointment for a further term. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
