Job Details

PolicyBristol aims to enhance the influence and impact of University of Bristol research on policy and practice. We are seeking an excellent individual to help coordinate PolicyBristol's programme of activities and publications that will significantly increase the status, impact and awareness of policy-relevant research at the University, with a focus on Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities. Target audiences include: international, national and local government; public sector; think tanks; industry and practitioner groups; the private sector; and the media.

The Associate's responsibilities will include: supporting policy engagement activities, brokering relationships with external stakeholders, delivering training sessions, and developing policy briefing papers, among others. Alongside the Director and the wider PolicyBristol team, the role holder will also play a key part in formulating and delivering PolicyBristol's strategy.

You should have excellent communications skills - both oral and written - and be able to assimilate and synthesise large amounts of complex information into accessible language suitable for different audiences. The Associate will liaise with academics and external stakeholders on a daily basis, so strong interpersonal skills are essential.

This position is part time, 21 hours per week, and part of a job-share. The working pattern is currently Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, but some flexibility around this may be possible.

This is a fixed term maternity cover of one year (or the earlier return of the substantive post holder).

For informal queries please contact Dr Patricia Gayá, PolicyBristol Director, patricia.gaya@bristol.ac.uk

The closing date for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday 12th May 2019

Interviews to be held on Wednesday 22nd May 2019

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world's leading universities.
