Job Details
A post-doctoral position is available at the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology, Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), Brazil, to collaborate with the project entitled Strategies to study pulmonary inflammation during comorbidities. To do so, the selected researcher will develop their scientific activities in the Laboratory of Pulmonary Immunology and Inflammation coordinated by Professor Dr. Vânia Luiza Deperon Bonato.
Summary of the Project
Concerning asthma, the post-doctoral project entitled Role of TLR2 and TLR9-dependent signaling in epithelial or dendritic cells in lung inflammation during allergen re-exposure and pneumococcal infection aims to determine the contribution of TLR2 and/or TLR9-dependent signaling in epithelial and/or myeloid cells for Th17 profile induction and neutrophil migration in asthma and pneumonia comorbidity.
Required Skills
Candidates must be exceptionally motivated, proactive, dedicated, and able to work independently or in a team. Candidates must have a PhD degree and background in the fields of Biological Sciences, with emphasis on Immunology. Prior experience is required in cell culture (primary and secondary culture), flow cytometry, immunoassays, molecular biology and histopathology.
Salary
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of R$ 7,373.10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
