Southampton Law School
Applications are invited for a permanent post in Southampton Law School at Associate Professor level (level 6).
As a Law School, we are committed to high quality legal education and scholarship. To that end, we intend to strengthen our research and teaching across all aspects of Commercial Law, broadly defined. We would welcome especially applications from those with an interest in Company Law, Commercial Arbitration, Intellectual Property, Commercial Sales and Commercial Conflict of Laws.
Successful candidates will have a PhD or equivalent, a track record of excellence in research and education including a demonstrated ability to design, deliver and lead in Corporate and Commercial Law at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be expected to make a substantial and excellent contribution to REF 2021. Visible and collegiate, you will be expected to participate in the management and leadership of the Law School including through line manager responsibilities. You will be committed to high quality research and to building a vibrant student experience and community.
Research in the Law School currently clusters around a number of research centres including those for Private and Commercial Law (PCL); the Institute of Maritime Law (IML), the Centre for Law, Policy and Society (CLPS); Health Ethics and Law (HEAL); Law, Internet and Culture (iCLIC) and the Stefan Cross Centre for Women, Equality and Law. Colleagues are also involved in individual and collaborative scholarship in numerous other fields, often inter-disciplinary.
