Job description

Applications are invited for a permanent Lectureship in Southampton Law School (level 5).

As a Law School, we are committed to high quality legal education and scholarship. To that end, we intend to strengthen our research and teaching across all aspects of Private and Commercial Law. We would especially welcome applications from those with an interest in Intellectual Property Law; Company Law, Banking and Finance including ship finance, Admiralty Law and Arbitration.

Successful candidates will have a PhD or equivalent and be expected to make an all-round contribution to education and research delivery in the School. You will be expected to contribute to REF 2021 as commensurate with your career stage. You will be committed to high quality research and to building a vibrant student experience and community. Visible and collegiate, you will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the School's activities including student recruitment and outreach.

Research in the School currently clusters around a number of research centres including those for Private and Commercial Law (PCL); Law, Policy and Society (CLPS); Maritime Law (IML); Health Ethics and Law (HEAL); Law, the Internet and Culture (iCLIC) and the Stefan Cross Centre for Women, Equality and Law. Colleagues are also involved in individual and collaborative scholarship in numerous other fields, often inter-disciplinary.
