Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Head Nurse for Cath Lab in Heart Lungs & Vascular Service Line
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Cath Lab specific roles:
- Manage the cath lab operations smoothly; this requires administrative skills which includes ensuring availability of trained staff every day; monitor staff attendance and report on low performers.
- Finalize the scheduling of cases and ensure these are properly scheduled with confirmation.
- Maintain key performance indicators to ensure low no-shows in cath lab.
- Training and mentorship of novice nurses.
- Propose and implement meaningful recommendations for cost cutting and revenue enhancements in cath lab.
- Ensure least overtimes and efficient management of cath lab.
- Ensure inventory management; liaison with distribution department to ensure inventory is available for procedures scheduled.
- Collaborate strongly for all the matters with service line management.
- Work as scrub nurse during elective & emergency procedures
- Perform circulatory nursing in adult and peads procedure
- Perform troubleshooting whenever required during operational activities.

- Demonstrates effective clinical & administrative leadership skills to train and guide the team
- Apply human resource management to ensure high quality care in the Cathlab.
Requirements
You should have:
- A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of clinical experience preferably in Cath Lab
- Valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
- Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), ACLS, safe medication administration, aseptic techniques, I/V cannulation, tool training, paediatric advance life support (PALS), caring for peadiatric patients and facilitation course
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills
- Sound theoretical knowledge regarding the inventory used in Cathlab
- Willing to work in shift duties.
- Command on the diagnostic interpretation and ability to contribute when expert opinion, when required
- Strong command over system and processes.
