Introduction
Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Senior Dietitian.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for a variety of task, which includes:
- Liaising with the medical / nursing teams, allied health professionals and other members of hospital staff in planning the nutritional care of patients thorough understanding of therapeutic diets and patient feeding is required;
- Developing and implementing protocols and individual nutritional care plans based on best practices for residents/ patients across the units;
- Planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nutrition training programmes for health professionals, management staff responsible for the delivery of catering services and others relevant within the organization;
- Leading the review, evaluation and audit of dietetic service, identifying changing needs and opportunities to improve services;
- Reviewing physician's diagnosis, design and implement therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations;
- Educating and providing guidance to staff, patients and families regarding diet and food plans;
- Identifying nutritional problems through individual assessment of nutritional status and estimation of requirements, and devising and implementing appropriate nutritional care plans so that patients are assessed and advised appropriately.
Requirements
- BS in Home Economics or MSc Home Economics (Nutrition) from a recognized institution.
- 5 - 6 years of hospital experience.
- Preferably registered with Pakistan Nutrition and Dietetic Society as Registered Dietitian.
- Good knowledge of age and disease-specific complications.
- Possess high level of interpersonal skills.
