Job Purpose

To create and disseminate knowledge through initiating and conducting original research and through publication, as appropriate to the disciplinary area.

The postholder will work on a new research project looking at the role of the third sector in supporting survivors of sexual violence.

Person Specification
  • Normally, a higher degree relevant to the research area (normally PhD) or equivalent qualifications
  • Extensive mixed methods research experience and scholarship within sensitive research topics
  • Experience of working in or commissioning services from the voluntary sector, and working with co-researchers, reflected in a growing research reputation
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated success in planning, undertaking and project managing research to deliver high quality results
  • Extensive experience of applying and/or developing and devising successful models, techniques and methods
  • Experience of undertaking in-depth qualitative interviews and experience of interviewing staff from different sectors including health, criminal justice and the voluntary sector
  • Ability to work sensitively with vulnerable research participants
  • Experience of championing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in own work area.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate the extent to which equality and diversity legislation, policies, procedures are applied.
  • Ability to identify issues with the potential to impact on protected groups and take appropriate action.
