Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge? Would you like to use your excellent computer skills to analyse Earth Observation data and understand land-use change? Do you want to gain research experience in one of the UK's leading research intensive Universities?

This role will support our understanding of the rates and impacts of land-use change both in the tropics and mid-latitudes. You will analyse satellite data to help answer questions around land-use change and forest conservation. You will have excellent computer skills, required to analyse large datasets using the Python computing language. You will be required to read widely across the relevant peer-reviewed literature, to become familiar with the different datasets and their limitations. Strong scientific writing skills will enable you to publish your results in leading international journals.

You will have a degree in the Physical Sciences, strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent technical skills including experience using Python, and experience of remote sensing datasets including Sentinel-2.
