Postdoctoral Associate in Agroecosystem Ecology
North Carolina State University

A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Anders Huseth as part of a USDA project to study and characterize the role of multi-crop Bt use leading to landscape-level selection for cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa zea) resistance to Bt toxins. The project will integrate existing observational datasets and landscape-level habitat composition / configuration to describe the development of Bt bollworm resistance in U.S. Cotton Belt. Project outcomes will provide a foundation to develop more effective stewardship strategies that improve the durability of Bt technologies while minimizing the environmental footprint of row crop agriculture.

The ideal candidate will have experience in landscape ecology and geospatial science. A strong knowledge of general ecology and statistics and a proven publication track record are essential. Knowledge of remote sensing and modeling experience would be beneficial but not required.

This position has two years of funding available with year two appointment contingent on performance. A start date between May and July 2018 is preferred, but alternative start dates will be considered. All questions about the position should be submitted to Anders Huseth (ashuseth@ncsu.edu). To apply, please go to the NCSU employment web page (https://jobs.ncsu.edu/postings/93320) and include a two page cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information for three references. Review of application materials will begin April 1, 2018 and continue until a suitable candidate is identified.
