The University of Bristol Law School is a leading UK law school with an international reputation for outstanding teaching and research. The School seeks to recruit up to two lecturers in law who combine strong research potential with a commitment to the highest standards of legal education to join our thriving academic environment. Embracing excellence in all its forms, the School welcomes applications from across the range of subject areas, although applications from people with an expertise in international economic law, in particular, areas such as corporate finance, trade finance, securities and financial regulation, trade and subsidies, trade and intellectual property or trade and investment, are particularly encouraged.

You should have a completed PhD in law or equivalent, or to be close to completion by the post start date and have a strong honours degree at undergraduate level in law or a law-related subject or equivalent. You should also have demonstrable ability to produce excellent research leading to publications of 3* or 4* quality by REF2014 standards or equivalent; a planned trajectory of high quality publications over a significant period; demonstrable experience of successful teaching or tutoring at university level or equivalent; and excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and accessibly.

The posts are available from 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The posts available are full time, however the School is open to requests for part time working.

The posts are located on Pathway One and will be appointed at either Profile Level b (Lecturer, grade J) or Profile level c (Lecturer, grade K) of the University’s Academic Pathways, depending on the relevant experience of the successful candidate(s).
