Job Details

We seek an ambitious, experienced environmental manager who can work effectively across our different communities to help realise our vision for Southampton.

You will be based in Estates and Facilities and report to the Deputy Executive Director.  We have an established environmental management system ISO14001. You will lead on the University’s environment and sustainability agenda and environmental management system (ISO14001), improving performance and reducing risk, working with professional services, the academic community and external stakeholders. The University of Southampton is known for its well-developed staff/student engagement initiatives and it is important that the post holder continues to work in this manner.

You will have an appropriate degree or qualification with substantial operational experience in delivering environmental management, preferably in a large diverse organisation or as a consultant. Although part of Estates and Facilities you will be a key member of the wider University and therefore must be able to work with teams that do not report directly to Estates and Facilities. You will be self-motivated and able to demonstrate strong management and interpersonal skills.

Interviews will be organised to take place on Thursday 3 May 2018.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Amanda Caspari, Deputy Executive Director of Estates and Facilities, Tel: 023 8059 2787.

Application procedure:

You should submit your completed online application form. The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above. If you need any assistance, please call Charlene Tyson (Recruitment Team) on +44 (0) 23 8059 6803. Please quote reference 981118TD on all correspondence.

We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Please note that applications from agencies will not be accepted unless indicated in the job advert.
