We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and successful neuroscientist with the ability and skills to integrate multiple cutting edge approaches to enable a new level of insight into physiology, neuroscience and associated pathologies. You will contribute to and further enhance the world-class research and teaching within the School of Biomedical Sciences that is currently being carried out by the Neuroscience research group.As a Lecturer, you will have well-developed strategies for research and innovation, which bring together neuroscience, physiology and medicine. You will have a vision and drive to develop an internationally competitive research portfolio and a clear view of how their research will be translated to achieve societal/ healthcare and/or economic impact within an achievable timeframe. Established interactions with industry/ and or healthcare providers would also be advantageous. Examples of expertise of particular interest include genetic and genomic approaches in neuroscience; in vivo imaging to monitor neuronal activity, opto- and chemogenetics; however candidates within other areas of neuroscience are also welcome to apply. An important attribute of the successful candidate is a passion for research-led teaching as you are expected to make a significant impact on the performance, status and profile of student education at the University of Leeds. The University obtained Gold in the recent Teaching Excellence Framework assessment; this appointment is therefore a chance for a successful applicant to join a sector-leading group within the UK.
