This challenging opportunity is for an individual with an exceptional research career and demonstrated grant success who is looking for a place to consolidate their expertise and international position in either Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Cariology, Biomaterials Science or Preventive Dentistry. This is the Department’s senior academic and administrative leader.

The Department of Oral Rehabilitation academic staff currently consists of two Professors, three Associate Professors, eight Senior Lecturers, two Senior Teaching Fellows, three Lecturers, three Professional Practice Fellows and several part-time Clinical Tutors.

The Department is responsible for contributing to teaching in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme which includes responsibility for the disciplines of Restorative Dentistry, Cariology, Endodontics, Biomaterials Science and Prosthodontics. It also has responsibility for the Bachelor of Dental Technology and contributes to teaching in the Bachelor of Oral Health programme. At the graduate level, the Department delivers programmes in Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Dental Technology and Clinical Dental Technology. PhD programmes are offered through the Sir John Walsh Research Institute.

Applicants must be registerable with the Dental Council. Applicants are advised to contact the Council for information on registration (www.dentalcouncil.org.nz). The Department and the Faculty of Dentistry support enrolment in higher degree programmes including PhD or DDSc.

The successful applicant will be expected to commence duties as soon as possible in 2012.
