This position will serve a dual role for the Cherokee Integrated Process Team (IPT) organization, providing both engineering and supervisory support to the shop-floor staff engaged in the manufacture of organic chemical intermediates and bulk pharmaceutical finished products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Front-line management of staff and activities required to manufacture chemical/pharmaceutical products in line with customer requirements for quantity, quality, and delivery.
- Providing leadership, advising/coaching, and development of hourly, union employees functioning as shift work teams.
- Providing daily technical support to the manufacturing area.
- Ensuring production activities are completed in compliance with established procedures and safety, environmental, and cGMP requirements.
- Monitoring of key process parameters.
- Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving manufacturing problems and events.
- Developing and demonstrating new and/or improved processes.
- Executing projects in the manufacturing area.
- Ensuring the manufacturing area achieves productivity and financial targets.
- Focusing on improving the efficiency of the processes and work environment.
- This is a shift-based position, and shift work (12-hour, 7-day, rotating) will be required.
Qualifications
Education Requirement:
- B.S. or advanced degree, in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Required Experience:
- Previous technical support experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical or other industrial manufacturing environment is required. Supervisory experience is desired.

- Experience managing front-line employees and advanced problem solving skills (root cause, Lean, Six Sigma) both highly desirable.
