Job Description

The department of International and European Law of the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University intends to appoint a fulltime Assistant Professor in European Law (‘Universitair Docent’) with a starting date of 1 November 2016 (tbd). Applicants must have expertise in European Law (substantive and/or institutional law). The appointee will be required to teach at bachelor and master level, to contribute to the development of courses, to conduct high quality research within the Maastricht Centre for European Law, to write research and funding proposals and to fulfill administrative duties.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in European Law (or obtain a PhD degree in the near future);

  • Excellent research and teaching skills;

  • Excellent organisational skills;

  • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).


Conditions

The appointment as University Lecturer will be for a period of three years. The salary depends on academic qualifications and experience. The salary will be set in salary scale 10, 11 or 12 of the Collective Labour Agreement of the Dutch Universities, minimum gross month salary € 2.532,00 and maximum € 5.288,00. For people recruited from abroad a reduced income tax rate may apply.
