We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in American Fork, Utah


Position Overview
Lead designer for electronics and firmware for analytical chemistry instrumentation and associated accessories. Handle projects from specification to design for production.  Lead or work as development team member for new product development.  Conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to improve future designs.  Share best practices with group members.  Constructively critique designs from other team members.  Determine methods or actions to remedy design malfunctions. 
 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Analog and digital circuit design including selection of parts and processes
  • Microcontroller and firmware design and interface to multiple digital interfaces and multiple analog sensors in analytical instruments
  • PCB layout, fabrication and debug of engineering assemblies, troubleshoot when necessary
  • Instrument and circuit preliminary and critical design reviews
  • Developing next generation product concepts, with the ability to look for criteria for future designs
  • Maintain engineering lab notebook design documentation
  • Adhere to best engineering practices and standards
  • Advocate and ensure compliance to government safety and environmental requirements
  • Champion a safe working environment
  • Provide timely and effective communication of important issues to project and functional leaders
