Applications Engineer, Corrosion-Protection Coatings, Munich

As a key part of an 8-man R&D and Applications team you will be responsible for developing water-based and solvent-based coatings formulations for corrosion-protection. With a heavy focus on lab bench-work but also with some customer visits alongside other applications engineers, it's a great chance to continue developing your technical expertise whilst getting some experience working with customers.

Responsibilites:

• Development and formulation of solvent and water based coating systems (80-90%)
• Applications testing on metal and plastic substrates and data work-up
• Occasional travel (10-20%) with other engineers to customers to perform pilot-plant and applications tests
• In-house production scale-up and testing
• Colormetric analysis of the coating systems

The company you will be working for develop corrosion protective coatings systems for the marine, general industry, electronic, medical devices and automotive industry and specialise in developing coatings for metal substrates. With a range of traditional solvent-based and environmentally friendly water-based systems, they pride themselves on a high level of customer service, which means that they will develop customer coatings on a regular basis for their customers, meaning that you will be working on a wide variety of research & development projects in your time with them.

Requirements:

• Training as Lacklaborant or Chemistry Degree
• Minimum 2 years development experience of solvent-based coating systems for metals
• Good knowledge of applications testing and working with metal substrates
• Fluent German
