Job Details
Applications are invited for an EPSRC-funded Research Associate position in the Diamond Group within the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol, in a collaborative project with University of York (Department of Physics) and several industrial partners. The appointee will apply spectroscopic diagnostic techniques to (i) explore the chemistry and composition of silicon containing methane/hydrogen plasmas used for Si-doped diamond chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and (ii) develop novel optical spectroscopy based methods for determining electron temperatures and densities in a microwave activated plasma.
Applicants should have (or be about to receive) a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical physics, or related discipline, and a proven record of experience with at least some of the following: optical and/or laser spectroscopy methods, plasma physics, microwave technology, and diamond CVD.
This 1 year position is available from 1 November 2016.
