This is a new post within based within NIHR CLAHRC Wessex’s methodological hub for a researcher with qualitative and quantitative experience. You will need evaluation and ethnographic skills and initially will work on the evaluation of 4 linked projects centred on the workforce that delivers services for older people in both NHS and community settings. Our methodological hub both delivers its own projects and provides support across projects run by CLAHRC Wessex. This post would therefore be ideal for someone wishing to broaden their experience by working within a multidisciplinary team which provides support to academics with a national and international reputation for high quality research.
The remit of CLAHRC* Wessex is building on regional, national and international strengths in applied research the NIHR Wessex CLAHRC aims to improve the health of people in Wessex and the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care. Through a world leading programme of applied health research and increased engagement of stakeholders (patients, providers, commissioners) we aim to bring about a stepped change in innovation and the integration of and pathways of care for long term conditions. With a focus on local NHS priorities of care quality and reducing hospital admissions/re-admissions activities will centre on six research and implementation themes:
- Achieving sustainable improvements in respiratory health through integrated care
- Ageing and Dementia: improving routine clinical care
- Delivering high quality fundamental care in hospital
- Public Health and primary care: targeting antibiotic use and preventing chronic liver disease
- Patient engagement with self-directed support for long term condition management
- Minimally disruptive healthcare: complexity, patient experience and organisational behaviour
