PerkinElmer, Inc. is a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment.
Position Overview
The Diagnostics Technical Support team is seeking a talented, hardworking co-op to join our team.  The qualified individual will play an important role in supporting laboratory-based customers who use PerkinElmer instrumentation and reagents, primarily in newborn screening applications.

The Technical Support team supports North American and Latin American customers by providing troubleshooting help, customer training, deployments and optimizations for PerkinElmer Diagnostic products. We take pride in supporting laboratories, as they utilize PerkinElmer equipment and assays to detect life-threatening disorders through genetic screening.  If a disorder is detected early enough, in some cases, disease and even death to the newborn can be avoided.  To learn more about what we stand for, please visit the Diagnostics page of our website at http://www.perkinelmer.com/corporate/what-we-do/markets/diagnostics.

The Technical Support Co-Op position requires constant team and customer interaction, an understanding of the science behind genetic screening, use of the products and software that the team supports and the ability to listen to, understand and document customer needs while producing quality work.

Position Details
The selected candidate will primarily work alongside other Technical Support team members to provide customers and end users with product and technical support - responding to inquires either by phone, email, or fax.  This position offers the opportunity to interface closely with sales, field service engineers, and other PerkinElmer support teams to ensure customer satisfaction.  You will gain an understanding of genetic disorders and laboratory processes used in newborn screening, which is a key strength of our team.
