Laboratory Technician

Job Details

Required immediately to join Bristol Bioresource Laboratories, School of Social and Community Medicine. You will be involved with DNA extraction, tissue culture, collection and processing of biological samples including some genotyping and biochemical analysis. You should have some previous laboratory experience and, ideally, have training in aseptic techniques and handling biological samples, although full training will be given.

The laboratory is staffed Monday to Saturday all year round and an out of hours rota is in place to deal with freezer failures. It is a requirement of the post that you are able to work some Saturdays and join the out of hours rota to be on call approximately one week in four. You may also be required to work some evenings to cover sessions.

This is a fixed term post available until 31/12/17
