Winchester School of Art is one of the UK’s leading art and design institutions with global reach and impact and a range of overseas partnerships. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward looking strategic thinker to join University of Southampton Library Services as Head of Winchester School of Art Library following the retirement of the previous post holder.

 As Head of WSA Library you will lead the development of excellent library services in support of academic activity and the student learning experience and as a member of Library Services Students, Education and Skills Division you will contribute to broader policy and strategy development across Library Services.

Winchester School of Art specialist Library collections are nationally recognised and one aspect of the role will be to promote and embed Library resources in education and engagement activities. The implementation of excellent consistent academic and user focussed services will be central. In addition you will contribute to the development of the University Arts Strategy. You will be a creative and enterprising manager, professionally qualified to postgraduate level or with equivalent professional experience, and with experience of delivering and supporting innovative approaches, using library resources with groups and individuals in student learning and skills development. You will be an excellent communicator, able to prioritise your own and the team’s workload to manage and deliver project outcomes. You will have sound teamwork experience, interpersonal and technical skills, and you will enjoy working with our varied user community.
