PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER

The School of Mathematics is responsible for teaching pure mathematics to more than 7 000 undergraduate students.  In addition, it offers advanced courses, supervises postgraduate students and conducts research in a variety of areas notably, Number Theory, Combinatorics including Graph Theory, Differential Equations, Operator Theory, Topology, Topological Algebra, Special Functions, Lie Group Methods, Differential Geometry.  The School has important teaching commitments in the Faculties of Science and Engineering and Built Environment. The School of Mathematics has an active Masters and PhD programme.

Applications are invited for two positions at Professor / Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer level.

Minimum qualification/requirements/criteria:

• An appropriate PhD or equivalent
• Teaching experience at tertiary level
• Evidence of published research in ISI accredited journals
• Evidence of scholarly leadership
• Proven experience in postgraduate supervision (including at PhD level)
• Proven experience in service applicable in the university context

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching all aspects of the discipline at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, maintain an active research profile and participate in the administration of the School, Faculty and University.
