Job Purpose:

To assist in the design, integration and development and maintenance of web or mobile applications in the ICT Innovation and Development Unit, including corporate web services and various portals

To provide support to users as required

Technically this include building our web and mobile applications from concept all the way to completion from back end coding to detailed front end development, design, branding, blended user experience, site layout and function

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A B.Tech qualification in Information Technology or equivalent
  • At least two (2) years experience working within a Web, or Mobile development environment
  • Advanced experience with JavaScript, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3 and jQuery
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Understanding of layout aesthetics
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following Object Oriented Programming languages: PHP, Java, JavaScript or Node JS.
  • Adequate knowledge knowledge of Web Services or APIs
  • Working knowledge of an OpenSource CMS framework (e.g. Joomla, Wordpress or Drupal)
  • Familiarity with software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
