Minimum Requirements:

Professor

• PhD/D.Tech/D.Com qualification in Information Technology
• At least nine (9) years teaching experience
• Evidence of international recognition as a scholar
• Evidence of scholarly track record in the form of international peer reviewed publications
• Evidence of completed postgraduate supervision at Master’s and Doctorate level
• Evidence of sustained external funding

Associate Professor

• PhD/D.Tech//D.Com qualification in Information Technology
• At least nine (9) years teaching experience/professional experience
• Evidence of publication track record in peer reviewed journals
• Evidence of completed postgraduate supervision at Master’s and Doctoral level
• Track record of external funding

Senior Lecturer

• A Ph.D/D.Tech/D Com qualification in Information Technology
• At least seven (7) years teaching/industry experience in the relevant field
• Proven research and publication record
• Experience in postgraduate supervision

Additional Recommendations:

• Experience in high level interaction with internal, external and professional stakeholders
• National/International recognition

Summary of Duties:

• Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the field of Information Technology
• Design e-learning courses
• Presenting papers at national/international conferences
• Publish in accredited journals
• Engage in Community Outreach Programs
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Undertake and supervise tutorials
• Participate in research development
• Be willing to participate in curriculum development
• Attend all departmental functions, staff meetings, etc
• Undertake administration and other academic duties assigned by the Head of Department
• Set and mark assessments and exam papers
