Minimum Academic Requirements:
Senior Technical Assistant:
- A National Diploma in Entertainment Technology or a National Diploma in Performing Arts Technology with specialisation in Sound and Lighting.
Minimum Professional Requirement:
- Experience in the field of Entertainment Technology /Performing Arts Technology, Technical Entertainment Production.
Additional requirements:
The following would be considered advantageous:
- Experience as a Theatre Technician.
- Industry experience which includes Stage Management, Sound and Lighting Design and operation, Production Management, Events, Sound and Lighting rigging and equipment maintenance.
Summary of Duties:
- Attend production planning meetings.
- Plan and coordinate setup and strike of productions at the Courtyard Theatre.
- Sound and Lighting design and operation for all productions at the Courtyard Theatre and productions presented by the department on or off campus.
- Maintenance off all theatre equipment.
- Production Management.
- Stock control.
- Technical support in all teaching venues and the department in general.
- Complete all Administrative duties related to productions and obtained quotations for productions and projects.
- The maintenance and coordination of the props ,décor costume and sound and lighting store,
- Booking in and out of props, costumes and equipment.
- Attend all Department functions and staff meetings.
Salary: R149136 to R249612 p.a, plus benefits
