The School of Veterinary Science has a rich history having been founded in 1936 and has a reputation for graduating self-reliant, independent and highly capable veterinarians with plenty of initiative and drive. The School has high quality facilities at the UQ Gatton Campus, providing the teaching, research and clinical infrastructure and resources to develop its strong reputation as a leading provider of veterinary training, research and clinical care. The school also maintains a small animal hospital and large animal clinic at Dayboro, north-west of Brisbane.
This position will promote and develop expertise in soft tissue and skeletal imaging for companion animals and horses. Through an innovative teaching and research program, this position will underpin quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching while providing and advocating clinical excellence. Integration with medical and surgical research programs with a biomedical focus will improve the understanding of disease processes with a goal of early, precise diagnosis to permit innovative therapies.
Applicants must have a degree in Veterinary Science, registrable in Queensland together with demonstrated knowledge and skills in the area of radiology & diagnostic imaging. For Level C appointments, eligibility for specialist registration - possession of a Masters or PhD or desire to undertake a Masters or PhD.
This is a full-time continuing appointment at Academic Level B/C depending on qualification and experience. The base remuneration package will be in the range:
Level B- $89,458.97 - $106,232.23 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be $104,666.99 - $124,291.71 p.a.).
Level C- $109,586.85 - $126,360.11 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $128,216.61 - $147,841.33 p.a.).
