Job Details
You will manage the day-to-day operational collection and use of these linked records. This will include: working with external organisations (e.g. the NHS and other government departments); designing and running the data systems that hold these data; making the data available to the scientific community in a secure and timely manner; and, creating appropriate documentation and cataloguing of the data to ensure their long-term availability and usability. You will manage an assistant(s) who will conduct routine data processing (amongst other roles).
You will need to have an aptitude for data management, programming, and a general enthusiasm and pride in working with data. You will be working within a research active team, and while you will not be expected to lead academic research, your input to the team’s research will be welcomed. The wider team’s work involves numerous national and international collaborative groups; primarily the Data2Knowledge group (Bristol), the CLOSER cohort consortium (London) and the Welsh Farr Institute (Swansea) – which gives plenty of opportunity for sharing and developing good practice and being part of a wider community of data experts.
For informal enquiries, please contact Andy Boyd: a.w.boyd@bristol.ac.uk.
