Job Details
The Tuberculosis Research Unit at the Swiss TPH is looking for a person to join the team as a: Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics. The Unit conducts cutting-edge research on host-pathogen interaction at the lab/field interface. A particular focus has been on the population genomics of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and its impact on the interaction of Mtb with different human host populations. Our Unit also generates large amounts of multidimensional and functional data (e.g. RNAseq, large-scale proteomics and metabolomics). The candidate is expected to work on his/her own specific project as well as in close collaboration with other members of the Unit.
Your assignments
- Perform population, comparative and functional genomics analyses of Mtb
- Identify links between Mtb genomic variation and experimental/clinical phenotypes
- Explore interactions between Mtb diversity and human genomic variation
Your profile
- expertise in next-generation sequence analysis
- expertise in statistical analysis of –omics data and data integration
- knowledge of programming languages common to bioinformatics (R and phyton)
- knowledge of database management systems (SQL) is a plus
- excellent command (speaking and writing) of English

The contract will be for 2 years with potential for extension. Employment will be according to standard regulations of the Swiss National Science Foundation.
