Network Security Engineer

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the management of the internet facilities on campus as well as all staffing within this area. This excludes the Local Area Network. The responsibility includes the management of external computer networking traffic, maintenance of the routers on campus, network security. Additionally, the person must develop appropriate internet/networking strategy and policy for the campus

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Firewall Certification CCSA & CCSE
• At least 7 years’ experience in networking as well as network security
• Linux and DNS skills
• Knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies
• Knowledge of CISCO systems router and switch including core switches and CISCO works

RECOMMENDATIONS:

• A BTech/Honours Degree in a relevant field of study
• Experience with Information Security at a higher education institution
