This position will support Merck's drug discovery and development efforts in the Department of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Drug Metabolism (PPDM) at the multi-disciplinary South San Francisco site.

- The primary role will be to generate and interpret high quality in vitro PPDM data, partnering with drug discovery teams to enable the invention of novel therapeutics.

- Performing assays according to standard protocols

- Opportunities to develop novel approaches to address PPDM-related issues.

Qualifications

Education /Work Experience Requirement:

- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Chemical Engineering or related filed with a minimum of (3) years’ experience in Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics

- Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Chemical Engineering or related filed with a minimum of (1) year experience in Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics

Required Experience:

- Experience in performing in vitro drug metabolism studies (e.g. metabolic stability, plasma protein binding, blood to plasma ratios and/or reaction phenotyping) according to given protocols

- Experience in bioanalysis using LC-MS/MS

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience:

- Experience using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks, Analyst and Microsoft Office

- LC-MS/MS trouble-shooting ability

- Assay method development
