The Role

The UQ Business School is looking for a Teaching and Research Academic to be based at the St Lucia campus with expertise in either advertising, consumer behaviour, marketing strategy or market research and a PhD or PhD thesis submitted/all but dissertation in Marketing as applicable to the advertised positions (see position description). Depending on the expertise of the successful applicant, appointment may be either at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. 

In this role you will provide academic development and teaching in marketing and will contribute to the effective teaching of advertising, consumer behaviour, marketing strategy, market research and/or the foundations of marketing, curriculum development and the enhancement of teaching methodology. In addition to this, they will contribute to the research strengths of the School, including the pursuit of competitive research grants and regular publication in high quality academic journals, the supervision of research higher degree students; and academic administration and service activities.

The Person

The successful applicant will possess a PhD or PhD thesis submitted/all but dissertation in Marketing as applicable to the advertised positions (see position description), have a demonstrated ability to contribute to high quality teaching of marketing and an active program of marketing-related research and an established record of publications in leading national and international journals relevant to level.

Expertise is required in one or more of the major areas of marketing, including advertising, consumer behaviour, marketing strategy, market research and/or foundations of marketing; course and program development experience (for Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer levels); and evidence of excellence in teaching MBA students will be highly regarded.

Remuneration

We have three, full-time, continuing, teaching and research academic appointment with an expected commencement for Semester 1, 2017. Depending upon the level of appointment, the remuneration package will be in the range of:

  • For Lecturer (Academic Level B) $92,142- $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807- $128,020 p.a.).

  • For Senior Lecturer (Academic Level C) $112,874 - $130,150 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $132,063 - $152,276 p.a.).

A market loading may be negotiated for successful applicants.
