The Aga Khan University’s Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations in London is looking to appoint a Head of Educational Programmes to provide strategic and managerial oversight to its Educational Programmes, Marketing and Communications functions.

The Institute offers an MA degree in Muslim Cultures along with professional programmes and short courses throughout the year. It aims to explore cultures of Muslims, past and present, and to offer the opportunity to study and discuss contemporary issues in Muslim societies by drawing on modern academic tools provided by the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences.

The Institute has a perse group of students and staff where teaching and research takes place in a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment.


 

Responsibilities The incumbent will take hands on responsibility for the administration of the Institute’s educational programmes including ongoing compliance with the requirements of the University and the Quality Assurance Agency. S/he will also be responsible for promoting these programmes and activities to increase participation from a wide range of audiences and to raise the profile and visibility of the Institute in the UK and internationally.

Requirements

Interested applicants should have a PhD with a strong understanding of the academic areas of interest to the Institute. Successful leadership and management experience within higher education administration and current knowledge of  QAA and UKVI policies and requirements is essential.
