This position is for a Sr. Scientist in Formulation Development, Merck - Animal Health. The selected candidate will serve on high-impact and complex, cross-functional teams as well as enabling organizational initiatives.
In this role, the Senior Scientist is expected to:
*
Apply scientific know-how to design formulations and develop manufacturing processes for a wide range of dosage forms, including oral solids and liquids, topical, otic, ophthalmic, injectable, and implants.
*
Provide end-to-end support for the development programs of animal health dosage forms, including process scale up and technology transfer, as well as planning and providing support for manufacturing and packaging of clinical trial supplies according to cGMP, GLP, and VICH guidelines.
*
Generate the required information and prepare documentations to support registration submissions into FDA, EMA, and other regulatory agencies, as well as to protect the Company’s intellectual properties.
Qualifications
Education Minimum Requirement:
*
PhD degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related engineering/scientific discipline required
Required Experience and Skills:
*
0-4 year work experience in pharmaceutical product development or related functions.
*
Strong oral and written communication skills.
*
Availability to travel up to 20% (both domestic and internationally).
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Ability to multi-task and rapidly learn about different dosage forms.
- A strong background in physico-chemical properties and pharmacokinetic.
- Exposure to pharmaceutical formulation/process, material science, definition of critical attributes for process scale-up, analytical development, CMC filing, and non-conventional technologies including modified release and bioavailability enhancement is highly desirable
