    The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences is one of four schools in the Faculty of Sciences, located at the University's Roseworthy campus approximately 50 km north of Adelaide on a 1600 hectare property, less than eight kilometres from the township of Gawler. The campus includes a working farm, animal holding facilities, yards, sheds and a range of general purpose and specialist teaching and research spaces and laboratories. It is South Australia's only veterinary school and constitutes a team of leading animal and veterinary science academics. The school has a Veterinary Health Centre with four units that offer a range of first opinion, ambulatory and specialist veterinary care across all animal species to the general public and referring veterinarians and are used in its veterinary program.

    Our School is seeking a small animal internal medicine specialist to join their high calibre team at Roseworthy. The successful candidate will have access to some of the best clinical facilities in the world in the Companion Animal Health Centre, a hospital which is only 7 years old.  The successful candidate will work alongside another internist. 

    Whether you have just completed your residency, or have already acquired your speciality qualifications (American or European Diplomate, Australian Fellowship), the post can be tailored to suit your clinical/teaching experience.  Opportunities also exist to establish a research program for candidates with the appropriate background.

    Salary: (Level B) $94,135 - $111,788; (Level C) $115,310 - $132,966; (Level D) $138,845 - $152,965 per annum

    The University will provide visa sponsorship, in addition to an attractive relocation package, to successful national and/or international candidates.

    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.

    Term of position: This continuing position is available immediately.

     

    Position requirements

    To be successful you should have at a minimum:

    • Completion of speciality training (Australian Fellowship or American/European Boards) and eligibility to sit those examinations.
    • Proven ability to contribute independently to a clinical referral service in internal medicine.
    • Qualification in Veterinary Science acceptable for registration in South Australia.
