As part of our focus on cancer, Merck is committed to exploring the potential of immune-oncology (I-O) with an expansive research program that includes nearly 500 clinical trials evaluating our anti-PD-1 therapy, Keytruda, across more than 30 tumor types. This position will contribute to Merck’s commitment by developing transformative value evidence to our customers in collaboration with other scientific and commercial leaders at Merck, and external experts and stakeholders. The position will report to the Executive Director, Outcomes Research, Lung and Melanoma.


DUTIES:

- Lead the development and execution of customer-relevant value evidence plans to our customers (payers, providers, patients, policy makers), including prospective and retrospective real world evidence studies, evidence synthesis, patient reported outcomes, economic models & model adaptations, and dossiers globally

- Lead evidence generation for label expansion/new indication(s) in lung cancer for Keytruda, by effectively planning, anticipating, and developing scientific evidences for use in Health Technology Assessment submissions globally

- Develop and ensure optimal communication of value evidence, including presenting data at international/national congresses and publishing articles in scientific journals

- Maintain awareness of scientific developments within his/her areas of expertise.

Qualifications

Education Requirement:

- Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, or ScD) or MS in epidemiology, health services research, epidemiology, health economics, or public health.

Required Experience:

Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, or ScD) in epidemiology, health services research, epidemiology, health economics, or public health, with minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of scientific research or Masters of Science (MS) in epidemiology, health services research, epidemiology, health economics, or public health, with minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of scientific research.

Must have research expertise as demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications in the fields of epidemiology, health services, and/or health economic research.

Preferred Experience:

- Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, or ScD)

- Oncology experience

- At least one year of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry.
