Duties and responsibilities:
Present lectures in all computer literacy modules.
Prepare and mark assignments for practical sessions.
Prepare and mark tests.
Responsible for technical maintenance of the ECLA assessment system.
Maintain hardware, software and network infrastructure in the SASOL computer laboratory.
Perform general administrative duties.
Driver’s license.
Applicable technical computer and network related qualifications.
Technical knowledge of and a minimum of two years’ experience in the electronic assessment tool (ECLA) that is used in the department.
Willigness to travel to TVET colleges to assist with technical support.
Experience in the coordination of satellite instructor centres.
Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s parallel-medium and richly diverse working environment.
Applicable honours degree in Computer Science.
A good academic record.
Applicable master’s degree in Computer Science.
Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication, ideally in an accredited journal.
A good academic record.
Willingness to enroll for a master’s degree at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of appointment.
