Co-Innovation Division

The Co-Innovation Division is a newly formed interdisciplinary collaboration between interaction design, social robotics, cognitive engineering, and software engineering researchers. We are seeking to add new members to the group who are interested in growing impactful research at the nexus of people and technology that engage with significant problems of local, national and global importance. We are particularly interested in people who design, build and develop new technologies.

The role

The successful appointee will be responsible for undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate teaching including course coordination and program development; research higher degree student supervision; research; and professional activities in the field of HCI. We welcome applications from academics with expertise in Mixed Reality, Information Visualisation, Tangible & Embodied Interaction, Social Computing, and Social Robotics. Additionally, the appointee will join the Co-Innovation Research Group and will primarily contribute to the University’s studio-based Bachelor and Masters programs in Information Technology and Interaction Design.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in the area of Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or equivalent discipline. A demonstrated track record in quality HCI research and capability in the design, development, and evaluation of interactive technologies is essential. Demonstrated teaching skills at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with knowledge of alternative modes of teaching including short courses, intensive mode and online offerings will be highly regarded.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time continuing appointment at Academic Level C. The remuneration package will be in the range $112,874 - $130,151 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $132,063 - $152,277 per annum).
