Postdoctoral Researcher, Arboriculture
The Morton Arboretum invites nominations and applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher, Arboriculture, to implement and oversee the scientific activities of the partnership between the Arboretum and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority. This position will assess performance of previous Tollway tree plantings and establish long-term monitoring protocols. Funding for this position is temporary and will run through 2019.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in urban ecology, arboriculture, woody plant ecophysiology, or a related field required. Research experience with trees, particularly in the urban environment, is strongly desired. Strong geospatial analytical skills required. Experience with state of the art methods for monitoring tree physiological status is highly advantageous.
