This is a new role as Coatings Developer to work for a medium-sized paints & coatings company based in Vienna, Austria. The company are a specialist for fire-protection coating systems which they develop and manufacture in-house at their site in Vienna which they sell on a busines-to-business basis. As a family owned company they have a very personal family feel where everyone knows each other and each employee is highly valued which has led to extremely high-staff retention with an average employment length of 10years.

Over the last 10 years the company has seen significant growth in sales revenues which has allowed them to re-invest heavily in the company, particularly in their R&D and Applications teams which means they can deal with an increasing number of customer requests and work on a higher number of development projects throughout the year. One of the major benefits at the company are their flat hierarchies which allows them to make very quick decisions, ensuring they are highly reactive to the market which allows them to outmanouvre their major competitors and develop more business.

You will be joining the development team which includes 5 development experts who formulate and develop the company's range of fire-protection coating systems. You will be responsible for development and testing and also working on your own projects, managing internal resources and taking products from the start to the end of the cycle including handing over to the Sales & Marketing teams, giving you scope to manage the whole process and take control in your work.

  • At least 2 years laboratory experience in development
  • Proven expertise formulating & developing 2K (2 component) Coatings Systems
