The Department of Chemistry at Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a Lecturer position in Biochemistry. Candidates will be expected to be able to teach: Biochemistry I and II, Biophysics, Biochemistry laboratory, Biophysics laboratory, and associated recitations for these classes. Typical teaching loads will be one large and two small sections a semester. Lecturers in the Department of Chemistry are valued and integral members of a vibrant community of faculty. The department typically ranks in the top 10 in the nation in terms of graduating majors, the majority of which are in biochemistry. The biochemistry lecturer will be expected to bring innovative pedagogy and incorporate appropriate technologies to his/her teaching, participate in assessment and advising activities, and work with a team of chemistry educators and faculty on outreach activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry or related fields. A demonstrated interest in chemical pedagogy at the college level.
Ability to work with and instruct a culturally diverse student population.
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field, and 1-2 years of teaching experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience teaching large classes (150+ students).
